BRAND NEW LAPPED RUNNING FORMAT WITH INCREDIBLE CAMPING VILLAGE, BEER, HOT INDOOR SHOWERS AND FLUSHING LOOS

8 hours. An ‘orrible, muddy 6.66km looped course. Do as many laps as you can to earn a wristband with each lap.

The event starts at noon (11am for Ultra runners) and you then have 8 hours (9 hours for Ultra runners), until 8pm to complete as many laps as you can. For each lap you complete you earn a coveted lap band.

Upgrade to our Hell Of An Ultra category to bag yourself a stand-out Hell Of An Ultra t-shirt and a special golden medal should you complete 7 laps (that’s 30 miles!) of mud, in daylight and darkness.

When the running is done, we are laying on a fantastic ‘weatherproof’ campsite, warm undercover beer tent and entertainment into the night. Stay and enjoy the party from Hades…

Silverstone Woods is a purpose-built facility on the edge of the famous motor-racing circuit at Silverstone, Northamptonshire. It caters to huge crowds and has invested in fully permanent toilet, wash and shower facilities.

As such, it is it also has huge well-drained camping fields plus loads of hard standing access for parking and live-in vehicles. As such, it is uniquely placed to give us a base for a cracking ‘weatherproof’ camping extravaganza.

As luck would have it, the venue is also graced with cracking terrain, woodland, meadow, water features and gloopy mud. Ideal for a 6.66km lapped course from Hell.

It wouldn’t be a party without a few costumes and we heartily encourage a bit of devilish fancy dress. There will be prizes on offer for the best costumes.


The key to this event is a solid run with an even more solid camping environment. It is November after all and we fully appreciate the need for the camping to be a pleasant experience, not some boggy mess with wet toes and droopy sausages. So we have selected an all-weather venue, with hard-standing all the way to your pitches, well-drained camping fields and indoor hot showers and flushing toilets. To bring in vehicle into the Nightfall campsite you will need a Park And Pitch pass. This reserves you a 6m x 9m space for any combination of vehicle, tent, caravan and campervan. Provided you can fit it in that space, you can put whatever you like in there. Alternatively hire one our tent packages that can be tailored to include parking next to your tent. No BBQs of any type, no open fires, and no large “Calor gas” style bottle cooking/heating appliances. Small personal gas stoves are permitted if used responsibly, but we encourage you instead, for the safety of everyone camping, to use the onsite catering facilities we have provided for you. Using a stove in a tent is very dangerous. We have a no dogs policy in our campsites as a courtesy to all campers and staff.

EVENT FACILITIES AT HELLRUNNER NIGHTFALL

On-site registration

Our team will operate an onsite registration process. Rat Race tech tees, timing chip and bib numbers are collected at registration. Getting the right size t-shirt is therefore not dependent on being a fast runner and finishing early. Don’t forget that YOU WILL NEED PHOTO ID and to fill in our disclaimer form in order to register.

Changing

We will operate small changing areas for participants. However, we recommend that all runners arrive at the event already changed and bring additional warm and dry items to put on for your return journey. Hell at Nightfall features showers in a permanent on site shower block, which are available on a pay-as-you-go basis. Slots are limited and available to prebook here.

Toilets and Showers

Toilets will be available close to the start / finish area. There will also be a handwash facility on site to get your mitts mud-free. Not camping but fancy a shower? No problem. Nightfall features token-operated pay-as-you-go showers located at a permanent shower block. Buy your tokens here

First Aid

Medical support will be present on the course and at the finish. You should be relatively fit and have no known medical conditions. Please note – do not run with a cold or flu. This can be extremely dangerous.

Camping

There will be a dedicated Hellrunner campsite at Hell Down South and Hell at Nightfall. Camping passes are available for the Weekend (Fri and Sat) or Saturday only. Refreshments

Hot food and drinks can be purchased and enjoyed within the shelter of our heated marquee. With music and a fully stocked bar featuring real ale, cider and wine this is the chance to refuel and rejoice surviving this day-night adventure.

Drinking Water

There is tap water available in the event village plus one water stop out on course. We advise you bring a refillable water bottle that you can grab between laps.

Merchandise and Rat Race Store

Valuables drop and baggage area

There will be a manned, secure and covered valuables drop close to the Start / Finish. There will also be an unmanned, uncovered and unsecured bag drop. In this area, all baggage shall be left at the owner’s risk.
